Mineral fountain Тhe 4 spouts - Gorna Banya

The water of the "Gorna Banya" deposit flows under pressure mainly from andesites and andesitic breccias in four springs.

The largest spring was originally captured in 1883 and recaptured in 1947. It is known as "Banski catchment" (BC).

The spring "Domuz Dere" was captured in 1921

In 1958-1961, 4 boreholes were drilled, which also revealed thermal waters related to those from the natural deposits.

As a result of the exploitation of water from the boreholes, the bathing spring has dried up. Currently, two of the wells are plugged.

The fountain with mineral water, known under the name "the 4 spouts", is located in the eastern part of the metropolitan district "Gorna Banya".

The mineral spring in the "Gorna Banya" district of Sofia has been known since the time of the Thracians, and the waters are characterized by little dissolved mineral substances, with a stable physico-chemical composition and properties that are not affected by the changes during the four annual seasons - the water is clear , colorless, odorless, with a pleasant taste.
