House - museum Hristo Smirnenski
The museum owns part of the personal archive of Hristo Smirnenski - manuscripts, his premortal notebook, original photographs, personal items, a rich collection of portraits and illustrations. Archives, books and personal belongings of Vladimir Popanastasov-Pepo and Toma Izmirliev, uncle and brother of Hristo Smirnenski, are stored as well.
The household exhibition was created with authentic materials, a donation from the family. It was opened to visitors in 1969. In the yard space of the house, the National Literary Museum implemented the project "Garden of Symbolism", which won the second incentive award of the Donation Program of Moto-Pfohe for the preservation of the natural and cultural heritage of Bulgaria in 2013.
The house-museum has been restored and the household exhibition has been recreated, and in the hall on the second floor there is an exhibition with original objects and paintings from the museum's collection, dedicated to the life and work of Hristo Smirnenski.
