House-Museum Pancho VladigerovThe State Cultural Institute House-Museum Pancho Vladigerov is housed in the composer's family home, donated to the Bulgarian state through the "13 Centuries of Bulgaria" Charitable Fund by his wife Elka Vladigerova and grandson Pancho Vladigerov - Jr., upon the composer’s explicit will - for the establishment of a museum.
The permanent exhibition of the house-museum was opened on March 25, 2005. It includes a documentary exhibition with highlights about the life and work of Pancho Vladigerov and an authentic reconstruction of the composer's study and his favorite recreation area.
The documentary exhibition is located in the largest room of the home - the living room of the Vladigerov family. It includes six vertical panels and four voluminous showcases, chronologically tracking the most important stages in Vladigerov's life and work. The center of the exhibition is the original author's manuscript of the Rhapsody "Vardar" - the most popular, the most loved and performed work of the creator, which has become the anthem of Bulgarian music.
Nearly 7,000 archival items are kept in the fund of the House-Museum Pancho Vladigerov. The contents of the archive and the signs it bears speak of the extremely thorough and meticulous collection and arrangement of the materials by Vladigerov himself.
Vladigerov's study has been restored in its authentic form, as the composer left it. In the small room is the grand piano, the work table with the immutable eraser and pencils, the favorite armchair and the unique collection of framed photos hanging on the walls, with the images of well-known composers, conductors, pianists, violinists, singers, personal and professional friends of Vladigerov.
