Cooperative Palace "St. Sofia"
The first large, multi-storey residential building, which became a symbol of cooperative construction in Sofia. The building is located on the corner of Moskovska and GS streets. But the magnificent building would not have existed if it were not for the talent, work and faith of architect Lazar Parashkevanov, who built it on "the highest and most beautiful place in Sofia", as he himself said. Built in 1927-1929, it is characterized by exceptional elegance, impressiveness and functionality. It is located on "the highest and most beautiful place in Sofia", as its creator himself said. The project for the building envisages 9 floors with 72 apartments. The facade is still distinguished by fine ornamentation and originality.
The architect himself made a large watercolor painting to advertise the venture, and the cooperative called "St. Sophia" was established and began to grow one by one. Years later, to the question "Who won - the idea or the good place", Parashkevanov answered: "Maybe it is the natural desire of people to live in the best place in Sofia then supports the idea…"
